Nandar is a feminist advocate, a podcaster, and a storyteller. She was born and raised in a small village in Northern Shan State, Myanmar. In 2020, she is recognized as one of the BBC 100 influential and inspirational women around the world and is also one of the most powerful feminist thinkers in Myanmar.
Nandar founded Purple Feminists Group organization in 2018 to expand her work as an activist. She is one of the leading organizers and directors of The Vagina Monologues play in Yangon and the host of two feminist podcasts, G-Taw Zagar Wyne and Feminist Talks that run in both Myanmar & English languages. She translated two of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's books, We Should All Be Feminists and Dear Ijeawele, or A Feminist Manifesto in Fifteen Suggestions into the Myanmar language with authorization from the author.
Nandar continues to speak up for justice and equality both from personal and political spheres.
